How I Fixed My PingPond Discord Connection Issue for a Decibel Event
I had a Discord connection problem while trying to participate in a Decibel-related event. At first I contacted Decibel, but the real solution came from opening a ticket in the PingPond Discord.
The Problem
I was trying to connect my Discord account through PingPond for event participation, but the connection would not go through properly.
After checking the situation, it seemed that my Discord account had already been linked to another account before, which prevented me from connecting it to my current one.
First, I Contacted Decibel
Since I was trying to participate in a Decibel-related campaign, I opened a support ticket with Decibel first.
Their response was clear and helpful: the problem was not something they could fix directly, and I needed to contact PingPond support instead.
The Actual Fix
After that, I went to the PingPond Discord server, opened a ticket there, and explained that my Discord account seemed to be linked to another account.
I joined the PingPond Discord and opened a support ticket.
I explained that my Discord was likely connected to a different or older account, and that I wanted to connect it to my current account instead.
I asked them to unlink the old connection so I could reconnect my Discord properly.
Result
PingPond support handled the request, unlinked the previous connection, and after that I was finally able to connect my Discord account normally.
Once the unlink process was done, the issue was resolved. The connection worked again and I could continue with the event participation process.
What I Learned
If you run into a Discord connection issue on PingPond, especially for an event connected to another project, the most important thing is to contact the correct support team.
In my case, Decibel pointed me in the right direction, but the real fix had to be done through PingPond’s own Discord support ticket system.
Quick Summary
If your Discord will not connect because it is already linked somewhere else, opening a ticket in the PingPond Discord and requesting an unlink can solve the problem.
Final Thoughts
It took a little trial and error, but the issue was solvable. If anyone else is stuck with the same problem, do not waste too much time retrying the connection over and over.
Ask the project first if needed, confirm who manages the account linking, and then open a ticket with the right platform. In this case, that platform was PingPond.
